As the first of its kind in the Greater China Region, the programme aims at nurturing future producers and executives in film, television and new media industries by providing students with a professional education in areas such as planning, financing, project development, producing, distribution, promotion, public relations, marketing, and theatre management.

Graduates of the programme are expected to be able to work as producer and executives in the industry and be well prepared for career advancement. The programme will

  1. provide students with wide-ranging knowledge and practical experience of all three fields of film, television and new media;
  2. cultivate outstanding leadership ability;
  3. cultivate exceptional team-working skills; and
  4. help students develop a thorough understanding of all aspects of management within the three fields.

Programme Structure

Units Requirement 27 units

  • Required Courses 15 units
  • Elective Courses 12 units

For students wishing to pursue a career in the relevant industry, this one-year Programme offers comprehensive and diversified training in planning, finance, project development, producing, distribution, promotion, public relations, marketing and theatre management. In addition to a solid grounding in theory, students learn the latest developments and business operation environment from professionals and experts invited to share their experiences. They also get familiarized with the production process of a creative product and develop their leadership ability through hands-on exercises.

Applicants should normally hold a Bachelor's degree for admission to a Taught Postgraduate degree programme; English Language Requirements: TOEFL - 550 (Paper-based), 79 (Internet-based); or IELTS (Academic): Overall Band at 6.5; or CET-6 (College English Test band 6): 450.
