Keiser University’s Master of Science in Education – Allied Health Teaching and Leadership provides instructors, administrators, program directors, community personnel, and anyone interested in effecting a change within the allied health field, an intensive study of theory and practice in the field of health education. The program fosters independent learning and prepares students to contribute through leadership and scholarship to the education profession within various allied health fields and disciplines. Students complete a foundation of courses in such areas as diversity; curriculum design, evaluation and assessment; and instructional technology before focusing on issues and trends in health education; development, implementation, and evaluation of community health education programs; legal/ethical decision-making for health educators; and health behavior theories related to health education. Graduates are able to demonstrate knowledge and application of theory and to critically analyze and competently solve problems in the area of education related to the allied health field based on applied research methods.

The Allied Health Teaching & Leadership concentration courses align with the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC) competencies as being eligible for the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) exam.

Program Objectives

Keiser University’s MSEd AHTL program prepares students to contribute to the education profession as leaders. Upon completion of the program, students are able to:

  • Demonstrate theory-based and practical leadership in K-12, higher education, and related fields;
  • Incorporate critical thinking, scholarly writing, research, and technology in practice;
  • Design and assess curriculum, instruction, and programs related to student success;
  • Direct educational operations including enrollment management, student retention, and educational effectiveness in community and institution programs;
  • Exhibit competency in professional practices including ethics, diversity, legal issues, and communication with all educational stakeholders;
  • Demonstrate professional communication skills in writing through organizing, thinking critically, and communicating ideas and information in documents and presentations.

Program Outline

To receive a Master of Science in Education, Allied Health Teaching and Leadership degree, students must earn 36 graduate semester credit hours.

Online study mode available campuses: Clearwater, Daytona Beach, Flagship Residential Campus, Fort Lauderdale, Graduate School, Lakeland, Melbourne, Miami, New Port Richey, Orlando, Patrick Air Force Base, Pembroke Pines, Port St. Lucie, Sarasota, Tallahassee, Tampa, West Palm Beach.

Courses are offered with all options like Face to face, Virtual Remote but Live or Online.

Successful completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. The applicant must present a TOEFL score of 500 or higher on a paper-based examination, a score of 173 on a computer-based examination, an internet-based score (iBT) of 61, or an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher.
