Today’s students require active, engaged teachers that continuously strive to create a dynamic classroom environment. With a B.A. in Elementary Education, you will learn to connect theory with practice and be prepared to play a valuable role in the lives of today’s students.

Our Elementary Education program offers extensive hands-on field experience that will provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary for teaching in the 21st century. You’ll be prepared to work effectively with colleagues, parents, and the community to help today’s youth get the best education possible.

Our Elementary Education program offers a unique mix of courses in curriculum development and implementation, teaching and instructional strategies, technology, design of learning environments, and focused disciplinary content that will help empower you and build your confidence in the classroom.

In this program you will:

Develop your critical thinking and problem solving skills

Through a focus on experiential learning and field experience beginning your freshman year, you will build your skills, resume, and professional network. Our proximity to some of the finest school districts in our state offers excellent opportunities for internships and employment. You will gain practical experience through a semester-long student teaching assignment, which will build your confidence in the classroom as well as your resume, and further develop your skills.

Applicants must have official academic records (transcripts or mark-sheets) of their high school transcripts/diploma and for each year of postsecondary education (college or university), as well as official copies of degrees awarded. Required Scores for TOEFL: A score of 79 on the Internet Based Test (IBT), 550 points on the Paper Based Test (PBT) or 213 or higher on the Computer Based Test (CBT) is required for unrestricted acceptance; Required Scores for IELTS: Applicants must present scores of at least 5.5 for general acceptance and 6.0 for nursing acceptance on the IELTS; and PTE (43). Some applicants may require higher test scores depending on educational background and program of entry.
