The sports industry is one of the sectors experiencing economic growth in both Singapore and globally. The sports industry generates as much as $700 billion yearly in sporting goods, apparel, equipment, and fitness spending.

Globally, revenue of sports events should continue to grow in the next cycle with projected revenue of $90.9 billion by 2017.

The Singapore Sports Hub attracts high-profile sporting events and is poised to become the premier sports mecca in Southeast Asia.

With expected growth both locally and globally, there is a demand for talented professionals who understand the sports business industry and can use their business management and leadership skills to best effect.

Programme Objective

The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Sports Studies and Marketing has been designed to meet the sporting industry’s requirement for technically competent, customer oriented, commercially minded practitioners who have the flexibility and capability to apply their skills and knowledge in a variety of customer oriented environments in both domestic and the international market place. This will involve integrating sports science, management, professional and transferable skills.

The degree programme will be targeted at suitably qualified applicants working or intending to work in the sports industry. This will include Polytechnics Diploma holders, direct applicants and holders of other relevant qualifications.

Graduates can apply for Stirling’s taught postgraduate programmes including, Master of Science Sport Management (with internship).

Able to apply sound analytical techniques, underpinning scientific principles and management skills to the challenges faced by the sports related industries.
