Actuaries play a vital role in strategic planning and financial management in the financial services, insurance and superannuation industries. Stand out in the finance field by combining essential quantitative and modelling skills from Actuarial Studies with methodological insights from is degree provides a solid foundation to enter the actuarial profession through studies in mathematics, statistics, accounting, economics, finance, demographics, analytics and modelling. With more than 20 majors to choose from, the Science component offers a wide range of possibilities. Fields of study include bioinformatics, chemistry, food science, marine science, mathematics, pharmacology, psychology and statistics. You can enhance your learning experience with our overseas exchange and global practicum program.

You will have the flexibility to specialise and focus on special areas of interest, career paths or individual strengths. You will gain the technical and specialist skills needed to pursue the role of an actuarial analyst in addition to the strong methodological skills acquired through the science degree.

English Language requirements: IELTS Academic version only: 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT): 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking); TOEFL Paper-based Test (PBT): 577 overall (min. 5.0 in TWE); Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); UNSW Institute of Languages University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component; Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): 176 overall (min.169 in each subtest); Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 180 overall (min.180 in each subtest).
