TASK 1

題目：The maps show the proposed change of a particular fields in order to reduce the traffic accidents in the UK.

類型：地圖題/歷史變遷

考點/寫作要點：

1. 時態(tài)：描述圖一使用一般現(xiàn)在時，描述圖二選擇將來時(future plan)；

2. 注意分段：introduction, (frequent accidents)，描述圖一，描述圖二；

3. 在描述圖一時要注意方位詞的使用，以及方位順序，可以按照由北到南，由東到西的順序；

4. 對于每一個細節(jié)都要照顧到，不能忽略幾條道路的描述，residence以及常發(fā)生意外的地點；

5. 描述圖二時，要注意Low Lane不再和Forrest Road相交；

6. 描述兩條道路相交可以使用的詞為intersect / conjunct with。

注意使用there be句型。

范文：

The two maps illustrate what construction will be carried out in an England residential area for the purpose of reducing possibility of traffic accidents.

As shown in the first map, the frequent accidents usually take place in three spots: the first one is on the west of the City Road, just in front of the school. The second one is at the spot where Forrest Road intersects with the City Road. And the third one is at a small pathway, in conjunction with the east side of City Road.

At present, from the north to the south is the main road Forrest Road, it is in conjunction with the City Road which extends from the west to the east. The west side of the City Road leads to the school, and it is located in the north-west of the residential area. The Low Lane directs to the living district, which sits in the west to the Forrest Road. The lane is in conjunction with both the City Road and the Forrest road. The supermarket is situated to the east of the Forrest Road, residents can get groceries there by driving along the City Road.

In the future, it is noticeable that a roundabout will be built in the center of the Forrest Road, which might reduce the speed of the vehicles. Another noticeable change is that the south side of the Low Lane will no longer be connected to the Forrest Road. For those residents living in this district wishing to go to the main road, the only way will be driving back to the City Road and passing the roundabout.

In the future, it is noticeable that a roundabout will be built in the centre of the Forrest Road, which might reduce the speed of the vehicles. Another noticeable change is that the south side of the Low Lane will no longer be connected to the Forrest Road. For those residents living in this district wishing to go to the main road, the only way will be driving back to the City Road and passing the roundabout.

People have access to their news these days from a wide variety of sources, such as the Internet. However, newspapers remain the most time-honored medium through which news is delivered to people of all ages throughout the country.

Newspapers are by far still the most important sources of news for several reasons. A well-rounded paper provides coverage of global and local news, weather forecasts and a whole host of entertainment and sports topics, and / it keeps people informed of nearby store openings, sales and job opportunities. Among all adults, newspapers are cited as the most relied-upon source. This dependence on newspapers for so many topics sets them apart from all other sources of news.

Additionally, reading newspaper is a good habit that can provide a great sense of educational value. It carries information about politics, economy, industry, trade and commerce. With this habit, it will not only enhance readers’ knowledge about general information but it will likewise improve people's language skills and vocabulary. Many people have habits of reading daily newspapers that their days seem incomplete without taking hold of early morning newspapers.

It is true that newspapers seem less important after digital evolution. Many people, in particularly the young, tend to upgrade their information on the Internet. Evidently, the strength of the Internet comes from aggregating an audience by offering a wide range of information in a fast speed. But the fact is that people who know the importance of newspapers are still buying and reading them, and the Internet is more like a supplementary part to newspapers.

To conclude, I believe that newspapers are still the most important medium for understanding the world and they can speak at all times and to all class.
