Prepare yourself for a career in early childhood or primary/intermediate education, and learn from staff who are passionate about teaching.

Teachers play an essential role in motivating, inspiring and educating the people who will go on to shape the future of our society. AUT's education programmes include 22 weeks of teaching placements, so you can get first-hand experience in the workplace and graduate with confidence in your skills.

Passionate about working with children between 5 and 12 years? Develop the skills to become a teacher in mainstream primary or intermediate schools.

If you want to become a mainstream primary or intermediate school teacher, the Bachelor of Education (Primary Teaching) provides you with the skills to teach in mainstream primary teaching settings.

A Tier 1 score in the National University Entrance Examination (Gaokao) at a recognised institution. English Language Requirements: IELTS score 6.0 overall with all bands 5.5 or higher; TOEFL iBT score 80; Minimum overall score of 52 in CAE prior to 2015 or a score of 169 in CAE from 2015; or a score of 50 in Pearson (PTE); or B/B+ in Certificate in English for Academic Study (CertEAS); or grade B in GIE.
