The Bachelor of Music is designed to provide specialist training in Jazz and Popular Music, Music Studies or Performance. You will be involved in a conservatoire-style environment that offers intensive individual training with professional musicians and gain valuable performance experience.

A range of adjunct units and electives allows you to pursue additional studies in music, or add other allied skills and knowledge in areas of professional and personal interest such as other creative arts and arts administration, events management, education, digital media, business and professional communication.

COURSE STRUCTURE

You are required to complete 24 units. These include two core music units and a specialisation. Under the specialisation, 22 units need to be completed for this course.

This major has a strong practical focus and enables you to develop knowledge and practical experience through performance (vocal or instrumental) or composition in a wide variety of music styles. You will have individual lessons on your chosen instrument with experienced teachers who are the best in their field. If you are studying on-campus this will include regular face-to-face lessons. For those students studying by online study mode, you will access your vocal, instrumental or composition lessons through video technology, allowing you to study with some of the best teachers in the country without having to move on-campus.
