Lincoln University's Bachelor of Environment and Society with Honours is a one-year qualification which offers an opportunity for students to extend their understanding of the complex relationships between environment and society. The degree provides a structure within which to understand and research specific social, cultural, technological and human dimensions of land-based issues.

Summary of Regulations
All of the following:
? 80 credits (4 courses) at the 600 level
? A 40 credit dissertation.

ERST 601 Advanced Theory in Resource Studies
MAST 603 Mana Kaitiaki (Maori Resource Management)
SOCI 641
One of:
SOCI 601 Social Science Research Methods (Quantitative)
or
SOCI 602 Social Science Research Methods (Qualitative)
or
WATR 602 Water Quality and Quantity Assessment
PLUS: 40 credits at the 600-level with a COMP, ERST, LWST, MAST, PSYC, RECN, SOCI, TOUR or WATR prefix. Up to 20 credits can be substituted from Masters Degree Courses to meet this requirement and to form a coherent programme of study.
PLUS a 40 credit dissertation.

University Entrance through NCEA, or an approved equivalent qualification. International qualifications. GCE ‘A’ Levels A minimum of 3 results with at least 1 grade at Level C or above. (General Studies is not to be used as one of the results.). English Language Requirements: IELTS academic score of 6.0 overall, with no individual component less than 5.5; TOEFL (iBT) overall score of 60 (with at least 18 in writing); Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) and First (FCE) overall score of 169, with no individual component less than 162; Pearson Test of English (Academic) overall score of 50 with no communicative skills score less than 42; NZ Certificates in English Language (NZCEL) Level 4 (Academic Endorsement); Lincoln University English Language LU EL 65%.
