Requirements

A major consists of 135 credits (nine courses) in Statistics.

The more advanced statistics courses build on the basic concepts learned in the 100-level course. So it is recommended that you take a 100-level statistics course, choosing from Introductory Statistics (161.120) and Introductory Biostatistics (161.130).

For this you would need a basic background in mathematics (eg Year 12/NCEA Level 2 mathematics).

You will develop a wide variety of skills and techniques at the next level to enable you to competently undertake the more advanced courses.
