Sheridan's Glass program takes an innovative approach to design, craft and contemporary art. Students are immersed in all aspects of working with glass: glass blowing, sand casting, kiln casting, flame working, a full range of cold working techniques and electroplating. Our flexible learning environment gives you the option to specialize in the techniques of your preference.

They specialize in the discipline they're teaching, which means you'll gain an in-depth knowledge of these specific glass techniques while working and learning in our state-of-the-art facilities.

Get a foundation in all Craft and Design studios

Our program provides a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to Craft and Design. You'll major in your studio of choice while building skills in the four other disciplines. You'll work with students and faculty from across all five studios on interdisciplinary projects that bring together a range of expertise and experiences to explore the potential of contemporary art, craft and design.

Many graduates are local and international leaders in the field, finding employment in glass studios or design firms, or establishing independent studio practices. You may choose positions in design and manufacturing industries, arts service organizations, or galleries and retail operations that specialize in craft and design, or pursue graduate education at a variety of universities throughout North America and abroad.

Learning Outcomes

• Develop knowledge and critical comprehension of key concepts, methodologies, current trends, and theoretical approaches in all studio concentrations in order to understand the relationship among them.
• Practice real-world, detailed applied research in your studio concentration in order to gain valuable industry experience and insight.
• Advance entrepreneurial and professional skills by developing innovative solutions for a target market.
• Gain industry and entrepreneurial experience by designing and prototyping objects following an iterative creative process involving research, ideation, visualization, analysis, production and evaluation.
