You'll study within two main fields of earth science: environmental geoscience and geology. SFU's location makes it an ideal location for a strong field-based component in your degree. You'll visit many local geological environments, ranging from glaciers to volcanoes, and active river systems to tsunami sites.

The Earth Sciences major program in the Faculty of Science also offers a forestry geoscience certification. You can start this program at the Surrey campus.

The department offers a bachelor of science (BSc) degree with three course stream options leading to course concentrations: geology stream, environmental geoscience stream, and general earth sciences stream.
