International Study Opportunities

In second year, you have the opportunity to study in Europe for a semester.

Professional Clinical Experience

This takes place primarily in the St Vincent’s Healthcare Group or the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, and in numerous other clinical sites within the Ireland East network. These clinical placement locations are centres of excellence, where you’ll work with multidisciplinary teams to provide first class, patient-centered care.

Career & Graduate Study Opportunities

Completing this degree qualifies you as a Registered General Nurse. You can work in acute and chronic care in a variety of medical and surgical settings. There are also career prospects for nurses to work in education, research or management, as well as excellent opportunities to build on your experience through work abroad.

In addition, you can pursue further studies at higher diploma, graduate diploma, master's and doctorate level.

Students must have Award of Regional Ministry of Education/Municipal Education Commission (or equivalent) approved Senior Secondary School Graduation Certificate and GaoKao result. In some circumstances the Huikao may be acceptable. Students must have Cambridge A Level: At least three subjects at A Level Grade C and three other subjects at GCSE Level Grade C. UCD requires Baccalauréat de l'Enseignement Secondaire + 1 year at a recognised university (Dipl?me de … (plus professional field); Dipl?me d'Etudes Supérieures; Dipl?me d'Ingénieur/d'Architecte d'Etat or Licence). English language requirements: IELTS - An average score of 6.5 over all components and a minimum of 6.0 in each band on the Academic Version; A minimum score of 600 in the paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL PBT), with Test of Written English at 475 +, a minimum score of 90 is required in the Internet based TOEFL (IBT); Pearson English Language Text: Minimum of 63 and at least 59 for each item in the Communicative Skills section.
