The Bachelor of Human Justice (BHJ) is a 120-credit-hour degree with an applied professional focus. Students gain an in-depth understanding of justice related to criminal and social justice in both Canadian and international contexts.

Students will acquire skills in analytical and critical thinking and human service practices complementing their general university studies and the liberal arts. Advancing through the Human Justice program, students can make course selections based on one of three concentrations: general program; criminal justice; or social justice that will meet their professional aspirations.

The Introductory and Advanced Practica are features of the BHJ program; students earning academic credit acquiring professional experience. Courses in the BHJ program are offered by faculty and practicing professionals.

The BHJ program prepares students for post-graduate work in fields such as law, criminology, justice studies, social justice, and human rights.

Human Justice undergraduates have found careers in: law enforcement; corrections; anti-poverty work; human rights; mental health and substance abuse; community development; and policy and research among other justice fields.

The Law and Justice; Corrections and Justice; The Environment and Justice; Criminal and Social Justice Theories; Discrimination and Justice; Mental Disorders and Substance Abuse and Justice; Youth Justice; Democracy and Justice; Restorative Justice.

Career Opportunities:
Human justice graduates work in anti-poverty programs, with youth, as human rights advocates, with the department of justice, law school, in mobile crisis services, as policy analysts, in police services, with restorative justice and in provincial and federal corrections facilities.

English Language Proficiency Requirements: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) - Internet Based: Overall 83; Reading: 20; Listening: 20; Speaking: 20; Writing: 20; IELTS - Academic: Overall Band score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0; CanTest (Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees): Listening 4.5, Reading 4.5, Writing 4.0; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Overall score of 59, No area with less than 59; CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language Assessment): 60; MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery): 85; CELT (Comprehensive English Language Test): 60. GCSE/IGCSE/GCE O' Level English, English Language, or English as a Second Language with a minimum grade of '6' (grade of B prior to 2017) or GCE A/AS/AICE Level English or English Language with a minimum grade of 'C'.
