Using your prior knowledge of economics or the natural sciences, this course will give you a thorough grounding in theoretical and applied finance.

Accreditation

The MSc in Finance is recognised by the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute. Our curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and can help you prepare for CFA exams.

Course content

The course provides a springboard to a career in international business or finance, as well as ideal preparation for further research.

Careers and skills

This course will provide you with the essential postgraduate skills you need to follow a career in applied or quantitative finance. It will act as a stepping stone to a financial position in, for example, financial analysis, investment management or corporate finance. The Masters is also an ideal basis for progression to a PhD.

Many of our students have gone on to forge careers in academia or central banks. Others have followed careers as investment analysts, financial advisers, and consultants in commercial banks, stockbrokers and other financial institutions.???

For a postgraduate taught course such as a Masters, you would normally?need?a Bachelors degree from a recognised institution in a relevant subject. The score you will?need depends on which university you attended in China and which subject you are applying to. Typically you would need at least the equivalent to a UK upper second class honours degree, however some courses will accept lower second class honours degrees. Actual requirements will vary by course: A score of 80 to 85 per cent is considered comparable to a UK 2:1; A score of 75 to 80 per cent is considered comparable to a UK 2:2. If you're a non-native English speaking applicant you must provide evidence of your English language ability.
