項目背景:For a long time, geography has primarily relied on field observations to obtain firsthand information for geographic research. The introduction and application of remote sensing in geography have modernized the means of information acquisition in this field. The rapid increase in the availability, scope, and quality of satellite remote sensing data has significantly enhanced our ability to understand, simulate, and monitor the Earth's surface, oceans, and atmosphere. The analysis of this data provides various opportunities, including monitoring land use and changes, Earth resources, assessing the impacts of climate change, agriculture and deforestation, urban and infrastructure growth, and planning. In this course, we will establish knowledge of satellite observations of the Earth, how satellite data can be displayed and analyzed, and develop practical skills using geographic information system software.

項目介紹:This course will cover the primary aspects of satellite remote sensing. We will outline the historical development of satellite systems and provide detailed introductions to satellites, sensors, data visualization, and data analysis for various applications. The lectures will be accompanied by practical sessions using QGIS geographic information system software to cultivate skills in satellite image interpretation and analysis. Students will work in groups to conduct satellite image analysis on an environmental science issue such as climate change, land use changes, natural disasters, etc. By the end of the project, students will have acquired foundational knowledge of satellite remote sensing and skills in satellite image analysis. They will conclude with group presentations of their findings. Personalized research topics may include Intelligent urban planning and design analysis based on GIS. Design and implementation of illegal construction data management systems based on mobile GIS.Application of remote sensing information technology and geographic information systems in land dynamic monitoring.
