計算機科學排名第一的同樣是注重科研的多倫多大學，英屬哥倫比亞大學UBC和滑鐵盧大學并列第二?；F盧大學的圖書館擁有龐大的計算機系統(tǒng)，提供各種數(shù)據(jù)庫和計算機網(wǎng)絡(luò)。另外滑鐵盧大學是加拿大第一所提供Co-op實習課程的大學，學習與實踐完美結(jié)合，計算機科學的學生們有機會可以去IBM、Nortel、Bell等知名公司實習，畢業(yè)生十分搶手。

1.多倫多大學

With 8,000 faculty, more than 700 undergraduate programs and around 83,000 students on three campuses, the University of Toronto is in a class of its own. St. George, the leafy downtown campus, has the historic stone buildings, while the newer Scarborough and Mississauga campuses are in quieter suburban settings. U of T’s halls have echoed with the debates of several future premiers and prime ministers.

An undergraduate could feel overwhelmed at a school as big as UBC, with its sprawling Point Grey campus and an international reputation for research and graduate programs. It’s an ongoing challenge that the university is addressing with efforts to create a more intimate learning environment by adding more student-centric learning spaces and engaging neighbouring municipalities as community partners

The University of Waterloo is a research mecca. There’s the Balsillie School of International Affairs, a collaboration with Wilfrid Laurier University, and the prestigious Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics is nearby. The Mike and Ophelia Lazaridis Quantum-Nano Centre opened in 2012, as did a campus in Stratford, Ont., dedicated to digital media and information technology.

The research-intensive University of Alberta offers more than 200 undergraduate programs and 170 graduate programs. Located south of the Legislature Building at one end of Whyte Avenue, where Edmontonians shop and socialize, the main campus is a serene green space surrounded by newer steel-and-glass buildings devoted to engineering, science and medicine

5.西蒙弗雷澤大學

Since opening its doors 50 years ago in Burnaby, Simon Fraser University has spread to the downtown core of Vancouver, as well as the fast-growing suburb of Surrey. All three campuses have developed strong ties with their local communities.

6.麥吉爾大學

McGill attracts bright students from around the world. “A degree from McGill right now is worth a lot, because the reputation of McGill worldwide is strong,” says principal Suzanne Fortier. The university has cultivated more Rhodes Scholars and more Nobel laureates than any other school in Canada.

7.蒙特利爾大學

Université de Montréal looms large on the mountain, and its in uence on Quebec society can be seen in its impressive list of alumni. Filmmaker Denys Arcand and former prime minister Pierre Trudeau strode its halls, as did 12 premiers of Quebec, who graduated from U de M or one of its affiliated schools.

8.維多利亞大學

Not many campuses can offer a 10-minute walk to the beach with surroundings of ocean, mountains and forests, but the University of Victoria has so much green space, it’s no wonder students flock outdoors in the springtime—which comes in early March—to study and suntan on blankets.
9.皇后大學

Queen’s is a hub of academic research on the shores of Lake Ontario near the mouth of the St. Lawrence River. The campus is dotted with charming limestone buildings in Romanesque revival and neo-Gothic style, several more than 100 years old.

10. 卡爾加里大學

The University of Calgary is a young university in a dynamic city. A location in the country’s energy capital has its perks (excellent job opportunities) and its problems (a shortage of apartments). “We’re achieving the high standards we’ve set before us, as we near the goal of becoming a top five research institute in the country,” says president Elizabeth Cannon.
